Frequently Asked Questions

I had German/French/English classes at school but I don’t have any further language certificate. Do I have to pass a TOEFL test/ a test at the Goethe Institut/Institut français…?
For both branches:
(English or French, English and German):
If you do not have a language certificate from an Institute like the Institut Français, Goethe-Institut, British Council, DAAD etc. to prove your linguistic competence in english or in the three languages of each programme, you can attach documents by professors or by a French, English or German University certifying that you participated in classes held in this language for at least one year.

How can I apply?
You can find the application form on our website: www.ie-ei.eu. Choose first MASTER, then between the anglophone and the trilingual branch, on the left side choose "How to apply", and then print the application form.

How can I find an accommodation in Nice? Or in Istanbul?
The IE·EI Secretariat cannot undertake to organize your accommodation but can provide you with address lists if you ask us to do so.

Apart from the different study places and the different languages, is the study programme of the trilingual and the anglophone branch the same?
Both branches consist of four modules. Yet they are different in the following way:
In the anglophone branch the emphasis is put on the relations between the European Union and the neighbouring countries and, in particular, the possible future member states. Consequently, the focus is more on the modules European Integration and International Relations than in the trilingual branch.
In the trilingual branch all four modules have the same importance.

The Master in European and International Studies is equivalent to 60 ECTS points. The ECTS (European credit Transfer System) has been created by the European Commission in order to make sure that University degrees and studies are recognized on an international level.
